Announcing House of Magdalena
A newsletter about culture and politics featuring weekly recommendations for music, movies, and more along with ways to take action.
The Intersection of Culture and Politics
Cultural critic and feminist theorist bell hooks acknowledged the potential of popular culture to challenge dominant narratives and inspire collective action for social change.
Through this newsletter, I’ll share recommendations like music, movies, TV shows, and books that challenge dominant narratives, along with easy, actionable steps for social change.
Whether we're talking about race or gender or class, popular culture is where the pedagogy is, it's where the learning is.

Spotify Playlist
I curated this Spotify playlist of pro-Palestinian artists who refuse to contribute to the occupation of Palestine, culturally or monetarily. All of these artists are proponents of the Palestinian cause, and many are Palestinian themselves.

And more!
Operation Olive Branch
Join me in supporting Operation Olive Branch to provide crucial funds for Palestinians trying to evacuate Gaza. This spreadsheet, currently with over 700 GoFundMe campaigns listed, is continuously updated.
Every contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference in the lives of Palestinians facing dire circumstances. Following the occupation’s recent decision to bomb Rafah, the last remaining "safe" territory in Gaza, Palestinians have been forced into a corner with nowhere else to turn.
Take action today by contributing to one of the listed funds and sharing this vital resource with others. Time is running out for the people of Rafah. Together, we can make a difference and work towards a free Palestine.
Until Next Time
Thank you for joining me on this journey at the intersection of culture and politics. Let’s continue building community and taking action for a more just world.
In Solidarity,
